Nang lae temple
Nang Lae Temple is located at Village No. 3, Nang Lae Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province. It was built in 1935, with Kruba Phut (Pud) as the first abbot. It was originally named "Wat Don Rueang" but common people often called it Wat Nang Lae, which was taken from the name of the village, which is "Ban Nang Lae". Phrakru Opas Phutthida (Sawang Athij. Joe Khamla), the current abbot, considers that a single temple with two names may be confused. Therefore, he wrote a letter requesting to change the name of the temple to Wat Nang Lae on April 29, 1981, until the present. The art of building the chapel was modeled after Wat Phra Singh, Chiang Mai.
วัดนางแล ตั้งอยู่ที่หมู่ 3 ตำบลนางแล อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดเชียงราย สร้างขึ้นเมื่อ พ.ศ.2478 โดยมีครูบาพุธ(ปุ๊ด)เป็นเจ้าอาวาสองค์แรก แต่เดิมชื่อ “วัดดอนเรือง” แต่ชาวบ้านทั่วไปมักเรียกว่า วัดนางแลซึ่งก็เอามาจากชื่อของหมู่บ้าน คือ “บ้านนางแล” พระครูโอภาสพุทธิดา (สว่าง อาทิจ.โจ คำหล้า) เจ้าอาวาสรูปปัจจุุบัน เห็นว่าวัดเดียวแต่มี 2 ชื่ออาจทำให้เกิดความสับสนได้ จึงได้ทำหนังสือขอเปลี่ยนชื่อวัด เป็น วัดนางแล เมื่อวันที่ 29 เมษายน 2524 จวบจนปัจุบัน โดยมีศิลปะในการสร้างอุโบสถที่ได้จำลองมาจากวัดพระสิงห์ เชียงใหม่
